After several weeks of posting that the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce Website is still down and being updated, I find it odd they want to teach the Community in Helena - West - Helena how to promote companies and products by online marketing by creating websites and taking advantage of social media like Facebook.
I understand that the present director has been in his position a year and yet the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce has only 24 Likes with very little promotional detail about the Chamber of Commerce and their website is always under construction. In today's economy, small businesses need every dollar and promotional advantage to get their company name out to the public. When trust is placed upon an Phillips County Chamber of Commerce and pay dues to be a member and the Chamber receives grant money to promote the area, they should provide their services as agreed.
The members of the Phillips Chamber of Commerce need to ask questions and take back control to turn this agency around. Most people looking into relocating, moving, and visiting areas rely on these sites to provide information. When this information is not supplied, potential businesses, residents, and visitors are lost.
