As stated in my blog from last week, I spoke of property owners who are allowed their buildings to a danger and eyesore of the community.  This week property owner of the week is Edward and Verna Boyd with over 30 plus properties.

As you enter Helena on 49 the first site scene is once a beautiful home now overtaken by rot.  527 Beech Street has the chance to be saved but this property will not stand and needs to be saved
now.

The old lard Factory off of Ohio Street is not boarded up and secured causing someone to be hurt or killed.  The roof has fall down in many areas.  I ask our City Government to start enforcing code laws  that are already on the books to stop the abuse of these buildings falling into disrepair.

This process would cost the city very little money and the fines alone should pay for the services needed to enforce building codes violation.  When a party purchases property as an investment they should be held accountable for their neglect.  Helena - West - Helena cannot afford loss of our historic city.  Once all the buildings are removed their is no alternative to bring tourist our city.  Cleaning up Helena - West- Helena falls on the responsibility each resident demanding change to preserve our great city.
