Once a month I see signs for Helena Second Saturday with a highlight on "free".  Is anything ever free?  The concept of the community gatherings I am in favor for - .  The Helena Second Saturdays allows neighbor to meet neighbor.  I just question that if this idea was created by Art Students and Community Leaders how did the name Helena Second Saturday come into play?  Since thrive is out promoting brand name, logo, and marketing tools they should inquiry to see if the brand name they are providing is a trademark name or a copy righted name.  One of the worse mistakes in Marketing is using another company product without permission.  Secondly, the claim that it is free is misleading.  Business Community help sponsor this activity and I am sure they do not want to be part of anything they may become a legal issue; furthermore, each community members pays that additional 2% sales tax from restaurant, hotels, and motels.  So technically the entire community is a sponsor of Helena Second Saturday.
Thrive boast about helping those in Delta with their marketing skills.  After taking an 8 week course in which grant money is received to run this program, then if you are lucky and one of the chosen, then you go to round two and pay $1,000.00 for one on one service.  Upon reviewing the Helena Start Up Application, I find it interesting that their application has a major misspelled word at the top of the form.  Porgram instead of Program.   If I went to a website were their asking me to fill out an application and the first thing I see is a misspelled word, I would question seriously the program being offered.  Why is Thrive boasting about doing business in Helena and their tax returns are prepared in Houston, Texas.  Finally, Per Thrive their accomplishments are to obtain grant money when they should be boasting on how they are truly helping the community...........................Just the facts.....structio

P.S. Phillips County Chamber of Commerce website is still down and under construction.
