Upon moving the the Helena - West - Helena area, I was shocked to see the number of beautiful historic properties that have become an eyesore, hazard, and taking away the sense of security while walking through downtown. Each week I will post the properties which are owned by non-profits, businesses, and homeowners who have allowed their properties go almost to the point that the trying to save the properties maybe too late. After this posting a letter will follow-up to our City Government to request repairs to the properties are made or to condemn them to protect the residents, tourist, and property values of the homes or businesses around them. This week I choose The Family Center. With over twelve properties owned almost 85% of the buildings are a hazard to the community.
As a community we need to take a stand against property owners who will not take care of their property. Each Sunday will be another property owner and I will update you and what has been done regarding this weeks property owners.
